2004 Flashback

It was the summer of 2004 and I wrote some of the different experiences that happened this year of '04. The main radio station that my family listened to was WIHS 104.9FM on the radio to hear Christian/Gospel music, preaching, church news and events, etc. I will never forget hearing when they announced on the radio that they were having a Gospel Fest in Vernon, CT. Me, my mom, and my nephew (visiting from California) went to the Gospel Fest that year. For those who are not familiar with Gospel Fests, they are praise & worship, fellowship, food, games, and nothing but fun! I remember when we went out to Vernon that year. Vernon is a pretty big town that is an extension of Rockville (a really small town) so people normally say that they're from Vernon. In all honesty, there is nothing too much in Rockville (just saying) but it was during the time the Gospel Fests were in Vernon before they started having them in Rockville (which I wish they were still in Vernon). Anyway, my nephew was excited about the Gospel Fest because he had a chance to see & meet people of all ages there.

The free food were the following: Popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones. Everyone mostly ate the free food! The food that was there for purchase was the following: Chili dogs, hotdogs, Pizza, Nachos, soda, etc. The people were really friendly and the fellowship was wonderful! The thing to always remember whenever you go to something like a Gospel Fest is that there are some Christians that are strong in the faith and some Christians that are not as strong in the faith. The key is to talk to Christians that are strong in the faith. There is nothing wrong with talking to Christians that are not as strong in the faith but not all Christians are in agreement when it comes to having faith (no matter how strong we may be in our faith). It's always great meeting different people at the Gospel Fest because souls are hungry for the word of God and there are praying warriors who are praying for a wounded city like the City Hartford and the surrounding towns like everywhere else! A great Bible verse that is encouraging is Psalm 46:4 which simply says, "There is a river, the streams wherefore shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High."
